Weak 2 Special Response : Bridge Online
2NT in response to a weak 2 opening is a conventional bid asking for further information from partner.
Responding to 2NT
• 3♥/♠ = minimum
• 3NT = maximum with a solid suit

2NT is forcing so the opener can't pass. It asks the opener whether the hand is minimum or maximum. If minimum, rebid your suit, saying that you have about 7-9 HCP.

If maximum, you have 2 options. The first is to bid 3NT. This specifically shows a solid 6-card suit, headed by the AKQ.

Your second choice is to bid another suit. This doesn't promise a 4-card suit, it just promises an honor in that suit. Take the example below. You are maximum, so your bid is 3♦.
Partner gets 2 messages. Firstly that you are maximum and secondly that you have the ♦K or ♦Q. Partner should now know what to bid.
